Time to begin researching, genres are the start

 While me and my group haven't landed on which idea, we want to do for our short film we each have chosen what genres we would like to do. it's been decided to research drama, thriller, and fantasy for my short film. Each of these genres are popular in today's culture and tend to be entertaining for audiences. while we prefer to watch action, romance, and comedy, we believe it would be good to step outside our comfort zone and do something more serious and takes a better look at the world. 

Drama is in a lot of movies and are serious a d focus on topics that happen in the real world. Some movies like this are "The fallout", "Titanic", and "The godfather". These movies make people take a better look and feel anger, sadness, and excitement. Drama is something we're leaning more towards since we like making people f really look at these topics in the world today and understand the different views people have from an unbiased look. 

Thriller, while called the same as horror, is in its own genre for a reason. Its more dark, gritty, suspenseful, with high stakes that makes the watchers sucked into the movie. It's one of the reasons why it's usually paired with horror as both genres fit with each other with the dark aspects shared. They don't necessarily always have to be connected with a horror movie, sometimes it can also be a mystery of comedy. Some thriller movies are "Bullet train", "NOPE", and "Bodies, Bodies, Bodies' ' which came out more recently than others.

Fantasy: Films with fictional themes. It usually involves magic, supernatural events, creatures, or exotic fantasy worlds. The genre is considered to be distinct from science fiction films and horror films. However, the genres do overlap. This would be an interesting genre to use for our short story, I can't wait to do more research on these topics!

What is your takeaway from the video?   This was a great video to watch right before my group and I start really planning our short film. Out of the many key points that I’ll remember, I think my main takeaway was about planning. In the video, the speaker starts off explaining why planning is so crucial. Planning ahead of filming is good because it sets a firm foundation for your short film. The speaker says that to write a good short film, you have to write what you can “pull-off”. Cant film today

 Today is September 30, the day I was supposed to be filming. However I was unable to because of some unforeseen issues. Someone near me tested positive for Covid-19, so on Wednesday I had to leave early because of procedures. I have not gotten the vaccine yet so I was someone who was at risk, and needed to stay away until I got tested or, but if I didn't want to, stay away for four days. Either way, I would not have been able to go to school today or Friday. Its upsetting that I will lose a day of filming because of this, but I'm grateful to be able to still go to school and Monday and film my commercial. I need to make sure I can film on Monday, hopefully there is no bad weather and the lighting is good so when I film it looks natural. Luckily I already have a second place to film in case of such circumstances, so I'm not really worried. The only thing to be worried about is timing. Hello, my name is Cecelia, and this is my blog where I talk about my groups short film and what we are doing. I'm mostly going to be recapping how the short film has been going so far and everything my group has been doing lately. Today is more stressful than others because it is the day before SAT, which is a really important standardized test. After Sunday we decided to take a break from filming because we wanted to focus this week on finishing test and for me preparing for my play. I won't be getting home all this week until nine so it will be harder to post about anything. At the same time, we won't be able to do anything since we are mostly busy this week. I would like to start editing, but I know my focus won't be on that and my mind will be to be focused on everything else.
