What is your takeaway from the video?   This was a great video to watch right before my group and I start really planning our short film. Out of the many key points that I’ll remember, I think my main takeaway was about planning. In the video, the speaker starts off explaining why planning is so crucial. Planning ahead of filming is good because it sets a firm foundation for your short film. The speaker says that to write a good short film, you have to write what you can “pull-off”. This means that you have to plan and write in according to your budget and resources that are at your disposal. 9 the short film vs 9 the film

  Short film: My first impression of this short film was a bit strange. I felt like the post-apocalyptic earth with mechanical creatures and animals made the film have a strange sci-fi feel. However, the meaning behind the plot regarding humans and machines, or what makes people alike in certain ways was shown when the other eight rag dolls emerged from the dead. The lack of speech or diction in this film also aided towards the meaning behind his film in regards to what makes us all alike. It is also cool to learn and relate to a character without even hearing them talk. Conventions  used are an abundance of low and high angles, to show the antagonists power over 9, yet also eyeline shots are used to show emotion in such characters. Full length film: The full length film had much more character development, we were able to better understand who the characters were and how the emotional vulnerability aided towards the plot of the film. Finally filiming

 After many issues and delays, we were finally able to film today. On Tuesday, we decided that we had to film the next day cause it was then or never. After deciding, we made a time when we would meet at Taylor's house, where we would film. I prepared the night before but bring my own set of props and extra marshmallows in case we run out while filming. Once everything was organized I went to sleep with my outfit for the shooting ready and prepared. When I woke up the next morning the first thing I did was pack my bags and then have an extract back with my change of clothes and props. I went to school and the usual happened, nothing special to report. School ended and instead of taking the bus like I usually do, my dad came and picked me up from school So I could immediately start filming instead of taking the bus all the way home, and having to drive all the way back the fort Lauderdale.
